Michael Kamp is a data scientist at Fraunhofer IAIS, where he is a project-specific consultant and researcher, e.g., for Volkswagen, DHL, and Hussel. He has worked on decentralized machine learning both in research projects (EU projects LIFT and FERARI) and industry projects (e.g., with Volkswagen and DHL). He is a distinguished researcher with publications at major conferences (NIPS, ECMLPKDD, SDM) and workshops (NIPS, ICDM). He was program chair of the DMLE’18 workshop in conjunction with ECMLPKDD, he was in the organization committee of the first Computer Science Conference for University of Bonn Students (CSCUBS), 2014 and has acted as an advisor for CSCUBS’15 and CSCUBS’16. He leads Fraunhofer’s part in the EU project DiSIEM on machine learning for cyber security and designs and gives industrial trainings. Before that, he worked for 10 years as a software developer at the S4M – Solutions for Media GmbH.
